Fifteenth UK Impression illustrated by Tolkien himself. Book in Near Fine condition with publishers green cloth and black stamping. Some fading to spine and a slight bow to the front board, tight and square binding, sharp corners and text block, some toning to decorated endpapers and pages. Near Fine original, and unrestored, matching fifteenth impression dust jacket not price clipped, with wear along top edge, tanning along front of spine that has darkened the backside of the spine, small closed tear to top of spine. Previous owner short inscription to flyleaf and previous booksellers price to back of first free endpaper. 

A handsome, early printing that looks very presentable in it's custom, genuine leather, felt-lined, gilt stamped green marbled slipcase. 

Book measures approximately 5 1/2 inches by 8 inches by 1 3/4 inches in slipcase with 315 pages.
